The Linux Beowulf Cluster came to life as the final project for the Computer Architecture and Organization course. The task was to design and build a multi-computer architecture that would be used for parallel computing. We had to repair the motherboard and network hardware, as well as build the rack and do the wiring for power supply and computer network. At the end, we had 6 of the 8 nodes running matrix multiplications in parallel successfully. The result was presented at the university technology week of 2011 and it was used as a reference for students taking the course in the following semesters.
