The Rocket Competition was an event get student teams to design and build a rocket to reach the highest altitude and provide verifiable evidence of flight profile using data loggers and pressure sensors.

Under guidance of professors Randy Larimer and Berk Kinighton, the teams worked at the BOREALIS Lab building rockets in a wide selection of designs, from totally home-made, multi-state (2 and 3), partially modified, and out of the box.

I was a great opportunity to have fun and engage with fellow members of the Balloon, Outreach, Research, Exploration And Landscape Imaging System (BOREALIS) group at Montana State University (MSU). This was one of the coolest projects I was able to participate while studying at MSU, the others being the NASA Robotic Mining Competition and NASA Eclipse Ballooning Project.
